The beginning stages of a vegan diet may feel very restrictive for those who are used to eating meats. However, once this kind of way of eating because the norm, they will find that there are all types of different creative treats that they can enjoy. One of which is the vegan coconut bliss balls.
Vegan coconut bliss balls are ideal for many occasions since they are 100% pure whole foods that contain no dairy or sugar. It is also important to note that gluten is not contained in this recipe so those who are allergic to gluten products can eat freely as well. Vegans should also know that this sweet taste is satisfying and provides the benefits of being filled with antioxidants and healthy fats. Listed below is the recipe with the ingredients and the directions.
(Makes approximately 10 balls)
1 cup finely shredded coconut1/2 tsp vanilla extract3 Tbsp coconut oil1 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips3 Tbsp maple syrupsea salt
Step 1: Using the measurements listed above, combine coconut, vanilla extract, coconut oil, maple syrup and sea salt together, and then place all in the food processor or blender. The mixture should be look like a big thick crumb when it is complete.
Step 2: Roll the coconut mixture into individual bite sized balls, and then place each coconut ball on top of wax paper.
Step 3: Melt the chocolate chips to a liquid, and then drizzle the chocolate over each coconut ball with a spoon so that they are fully covered. However, the person should not leave large pools of chocolate around the base of each ball.
Step 4: While the chocolate is still wet and moist, the sea salt should be sprinkled on top of each coconut ball.
Step 5: Coconut balls should be placed inside of the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until the mixture has harden.
